Nous vivons à une époque où les systèmes spéculatifs font passer les profits avant les besoins humains, où des crises sociales ébranlent les conditions de vie les plus élémentaires et où l'effondrement écologique menace l'existence d'innombrables êtres vivants – humains et non humains – à l'échelle de vastes territoires et régions géographiques. Inévitablement, des questions sur la nécessité même de construire, sur la manière d'intervenir, et sur la gestion du parc bâti existant deviennent urgentes et se retrouvent au cœur des réflexions dans le domaine de l'architecture.

Dans le prolongement critique de cette exposition, la Fondation Pavillon Sicli lance un concours destiné à produire des installations in situ sur le parvis du Pavillon Sicli.

GROUNDWORK – HOW SHOULD WE APPROACH ARCHITECTURE TODAY ?

As part of the Groundwork exhibition, originally produced by the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal (CCA) and presented at the Pavillon Sicli from April 14th to June 13th, 2027, we are launching a call for projects!

We are living in an age of speculative systems, designed to favor profit over people. We are facing social crises undermining the most basic conditions of living while ecological collapses threaten the existence of a multiplicity of human and non-human beings across territories and geographies. lnevitably, questions of whether or not to build, of how to intervene, and of what to do with the existing building environment are at the core of architectural thought.

As a critical extension of this exhibition, the Pavillon Sicli Foundation is launching an open call to create site-specific installations on the forecourt (see attached map) of the Pavillon Sicli.
